Our ESOL kids performing :)

On Thursday Wyatt and Shiloh performed for the whole school as part of the Pasifika group. They were amazing and Room 1 is so proud of them. The senior girls did a hula which was amazing!

Measuring with our hands!

We made a hand print of our hand, decorated it, cut it out and measured things around the room comparing objects to it. Were they larger? Smaller? Shorter? Taller?

Expanding our knowledge

Wyatt and Cole are working to not use fingers when counting but to count in their heads

Atarau, Shiloh,Milla
and Tyler are adding from 5
Kiera and Joscelyn are collaborating

Welcome to our new students Haniya, Winter and Jaelah.

We now have 18 stars in Room 1.

Reminders

Cross Country this Thursday at 1:30. We would love to see you there! Please can you make sure your children are in house colours and in running shoes.
Parent interviews are coming up- notice coming home today with booking information.
Finally we are going to be sending rubbish home from lunch in your child's lunch box to reduce the amount in the playground plus reducing the cost in dumping so much rubbish. This will start tomorrow- it may be a good idea to send food in containers instead if glad wrap.  It will also be helpful for you to see what your child is eating/not eating or dislikes.

Beginning our numeracy journey in Room 1

Lots of us can count to 10 but are unsure of making sets to 10, counting up and down as well as forming numbers to 10. We will keep you updated on our journey this year

Measurement

We are learning about measurement this term. We thought we could talk about tallest and shortest. Then we looked at longest and shortest. After that we discussed heavier and lighter. Watch this space!!
